When Martin Keen stubbed his toe on his boat for the umpteenth time, he came up with a solution, "toe protection". Add a little more support in the upper than a traditional sandal and the hybrid is born. Once you've tried a hybrid, you'll wonder why you ever wore shoes or sandals.
