There is something special about Gore-Tex fabrics, that's for sure, and unfortunately dear online shopper, this can be hard to determine on a computer screen so here goes... The Cipher Hybrid jacket combines a soft, buttery (but super robust!) Gore-Tex soft shell with the the very breathable Apex Aerobic soft shell from The North Face. The Gore blocks 100% of wind and that's why they use it on the body, back and shoulders to keep your core warm and protected. TNF's Apex Aerobic fabric allows more brethability and stretch on the sides, underarms, and forearms.
Overall, it's a gret combo that allows you to work hard, yet enjoy great temperature regulation. The location of the alpine pockets are great and easily accessible with a pack and harness on. The hood is the bomb. It just works well, staying with the head and never impeding vision. The Cipher Hybrid is a GearGuys favourite and has been abused backcountry skiing, mountaineering, hiking, biking and probably most of all, sipping latte's on cool days!
