Weight has been whittled down to a minimum to produce the Verto 26, a Summit Series™ summit pack extraordinaire. Built from light and tough ripstop cargo nylon, the 26 litre volume will handle your summit day essentials. A unique triple-point compression system enables the pack to double as a sleeping bag stuff sack so you can shave weight on the carry to base camp by leaving out the stuff sack and you still have a light day pack for a dash to the summit. Two zippered pockets keep small valuables secure and a dedicated water bottle pocket keeps refreshments to hand (and hydration pack compatible too). Multiple lash points with a cinch cord included allow you to attach items externally.

From necessity comes innovation, so the story goes. Apparently some athletes from The North Face were using a stuffable, lightweight travel rucksack on their summit pushes and when they weren't using it as a pack, it had the additional function of a sleeping bag stuff sack. One of the pack designers noticed it in their expedition pics and the Verto 26 was born. The brief was to make the lightest, stowable pack possible that's tough enough for summit assaults and also functions as a stuff sack when not used as a backpack. This super lean pack (weighs 310g!) is a revelation and in the spirit of it's development, it's being used for all sorts of things never specifically designed for - carrying laptops, uni books, work gear, ski's in the backcountry, shopping, you name it. It's an awesome little unit and a favourite with the GearGuys crew.
