Teva

In 1984, a young Grand Canyon river guide revolutionized the footwear industry when he created the world's first sports sandal. Mark Thatcher, or “Thatch” to his mates, found canvas sneakers would become heavy when wet and would take days to dry and thongs would slide off the feet too easily.

Thatcher fashioned a thong-style sandal with nylon ankle strapping, thus creating the first sport sandal and Teva® was born.
