The classic Tadpole 23 provides lightweight 2-person expedition comfort and protection in 3-season climates. It's light enough for athlete's needs whilst having the generous storage space required on longer trips. A tapered shape allows good head room which in combination with innovations such as the full mesh canopy for ventilation, keeps the overall weight down. The large vestibule provides ample cooking or storage. A colour-coded pitch system ensures it's easy to erect in a hurry. Can be quickly fly-only pitched in extremis or you can pack the fly only for light-weight trips. Compatible gear loft and footprint available separately. We never use the term classic lightly.

The Tadpole 23 is a classic and original design from The North Face. Firstly, this is not a big tent. So if you're a big unit, you may need to look at something like the Rock 22 or Rock 33. We found it best for long hiking trips where you've got a lot to carry (hence a light tent is good) and you're not spending a lot of time in your tent except for sleeping. The single vesitbule is big enough to squeeze your gear under cover if it's raining, but don't expect to cook there as well. So, a really awesome, bomb proof tent that will allow a great nights rest and shelter against the worst storms but if you like a lot space, consider something a little larger.
