The Hydrogen vest is a light, simple piece of gear that is loved and adored to by the GearGuys. Wow, big call from the GG crew you say but here's the problem we face on cold days - you're amping to go for a trail run or ride, it's cold, it could even be raining. You want some protection from the elements, so you put on a waterproof, breathable rain coat. Bamm, 5 minutes into your activity, your sweating your arse off. You're wet with sweat and probably too hot. It's just a fact that the most breathable raincoat will not prevent you from sweating as there's no breeze to evaporate the moisture. This is where the Hydrogen Vest (or Jacket for that matter) works so well. It allows for some air flow due to mesh panels and the nature of the fabric which helps minimise moisture build up, yet seems to block the bulk of the cold biting wind. It can handle a bit of a downpour as the fabric is treated with a DWR coating so you're not going to get saturated. And it's so light, you can put it in your pocket as an emergency shell. Great piece!
